Dear Readers,

In this issue we present you some articles covering problems associated with the second leading cause of death globally- cancer.  A. Panasiuk et al. in their publication explore challenges associated with designing studies and developing guidelines in breast cancer. In addition, we publish an extensive article on chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) treatment options that are available in Poland.

A rapidly-shifting world demographic is reflected in new issues we face as health-care professionals, one of them being polypharmacy- using multiple medications, especially by elderly patients. An interesting phenomenon called "Triple Whammy" is discussed in work by Piekarska et al., as well as the role of pharmacists in preventing it.

We also recommend  reading other articles about long-term care in Poland and  about access to ophthalmic treatment.
